The Victory


The artist has depicted the Victory rolling up channel leading a squadron, and in battle order with boarding nettings round the head and hammock-cloths spread. The flag at the fore is the Vice-Admiral's flag flown by Nelson, and the flags at the main are a signal of the period reading, "White Squadron to draw into line abreast". She is shortening sail and the vessel to leeward is a frigate.

The actual size of the print is 508x375 mm. Mounted on board, size 610x508 mm.
