Item details

Plan: 1120

The "Clyde Puffer" was the most numerous type of trading vessel on the coasts of Scotland, while in the Clyde they were to be seen in their dozens. Although built to trade all round the coast and as far afield as Ireland, the "puffer" was small enough to use the Crinan Canal as a short-cut through the Kintyre isthmus, which for model work means that even a large scale produces a relatively small hull.

The plans are drawn to a scale of 1/4' = 1'0", on which even the winch can be reproduced with complete accuracy, yet the O.A. length of the model is only 22'. As will be seen from the illustration, the plans are drawn in great detail.

Plans in this series: 1119 1120
